Amour25 et Clémentine25

Today at Tijon in Charleston was both inspiring and deeply meaningful. I had the joy of creating two unique perfumes, each carrying its own story and connection to my personal journey with aromatherapy.

Amour25

The first parfum, Amour25, is a thoughtful blend of Patchouli, Vetiver, and Violet bouquet. I chose the name to mark today’s date and year, a way of preserving this moment in time. Its grounding, earthy richness is softened by the gentle floral touch, creating an aroma that feels both timeless and intimate. Amour25 will always remind me of the love, joy, and gratitude I felt in this creative space.

Clémentine25

The second parfum, Clémentine25, holds even deeper personal meaning. Its sparkling notes of Bergamot, Clementine, Pink Grapefruit, Cedarwood, and Mandarin Neroli take me back to the very beginning of my aromatherapy journey.

I remember creating my first simple roll-on with just Clementine essential oil (Citrus clementina) in jojoba, never imagining how far that single step would lead me. My cousin Patricia Haouchine in Belgium loved it so much. Clementine is a natural hybrid of mandarin and sweet orange, and its essential oil is cold pressed from the peel of the fruit. Like other citrus oils, Clementine is rich in the cleansing chemical component Limonene; however, it is sweeter and zestier than most citrus oils. I am definitely making more blends in the future with this one.

Today, I feel I have honored that memory by giving life to a completer and more radiant version.

This experience was not only about creating fragrance but also about honoring the people who shaped my journey. I dedicate this day to my husband, who first surprised me with a perfumer’s class in St. Maarten in 2016, sparking a passion that continues to grow, and to my mentor and dear friend, Jade Shutes, whose wisdom and guidance nurtured my love for aromatherapy. Thanks to them, and to this creative moment at Tijon, I feel more inspired than ever to explore, craft, and share the beauty of new aromas.
