Breathe salve

Ingredients:

🌿 Jojoba oil, Lavender infused oil, Vitamin E-oil, Shea butter & Beeswax.
🌿 Essential oils: Black Spruce, Eucalyptus BlueGum / Lemon / Peppermint, Rosemary ct cineole & Thyme.

Jojoba oil is a gentle, skin-compatible carrier oil that closely mimics the skin's natural sebum. It offers antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and wound-healing benefits, helping to soothe irritation, maintain moisture balance, and support skin healing.​

Lavender infused oil is a gentle, skin‑safe way to use lavender’s anti‑inflammatory, antimicrobial, analgesic, and calming properties, especially for topical and massage applications. It is much less concentrated than lavender essential oil, which makes it better suited for frequent use, larger body areas, children, and sensitive or compromised skin.

Vitamin E (tocopherols/tocotrienols) is a fat‑soluble antioxidant that helps neutralize free radicals in the skin, reducing oxidative stress that contributes to premature aging, inflammation, and photo‑damage.

Shea butter is a rich emollient from the nut of the African shea tree, prized for its deep moisturizing, anti-inflammatory, and skin barrier repair properties that soothe irritation and support healing.

Beeswax provides a protective barrier on the skin that helps seal in moisture while allowing the skin to breathe. It also contributes to the salve's smooth texture and slow absorption for lasting effects.

Black spruce essential oil (Picea mariana) offers anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and grounding therapeutic properties, primarily used topically in dilution for skin soothing, muscle relief, and emotional balance.

Eucalyptus Blue Gum essential oil (Eucalyptus globulus), high in 1,8-cineole (eucalyptol), provides strong antimicrobial, expectorant, anti-inflammatory, and decongestant effects for respiratory relief, skin purification, and muscle soothing.

Eucalyptus Lemon essential oil (Eucalyptus citriodora) is rich in citronellal, offering antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and insect-repellent properties for skin soothing, pain relief, and respiratory support.

Eucalyptus Peppermint: Originating in Australia, this steam-distilled oil comes from the leaves and twigs of the Peppermint Gum Tree. Eucalyptus Dives has a strong herbaceous, woody, minty scent that is stimulating and uplifting. It is prized for synergistic cooling, decongestant, and invigorating effects on breathing, muscles, and mental clarity.

Rosemary ct cineole essential oil, rich in 1,8-cineole, acts as an expectorant and anti-inflammatory agent, aiding mucus clearance and soothing respiratory discomfort. It also supports mental focus and reduces fatigue with its stimulating aroma.​

Thyme essential oil is a potent antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant agent, primarily valued for fighting infections, supporting respiratory health, and aiding skin conditions when properly diluted.

Together, these ingredients create a therapeutic salve that helps open and soothe the respiratory pathways, reduce inflammation, ease congestion, and provide antimicrobial protection, all while nourishing and protecting the skin with jojoba oil and beeswax.

Usage typically involves gently massaging the salve onto the chest, throat, neck, or upper back, allowing the warming, refreshing vapors to support easier breathing and respiratory comfort.

This breathe salve formulation is ideal for seasonal respiratory support during colds, congestion, or environmental irritants, combining traditional plant-based respiratory aids with a skin-friendly, protective base.

This recipe is good for ages 6 years and up.
