Face Toner

Rose hydrosol is the rosy water left after distilling roses. It can be sprayed on the face or used as a refreshing mist, while rose essential oil is much more concentrated.

In this face toner, I have added Lavender and Witch Hazel hydrosol to help calm the mind, and help reduce inflammation.

Recipe:
2.5 oz Rose hydrosol
1 oz Lavender hydrosol
0.5 oz Witch hazel hydrosol

 

Spritz gently on face whenever needed. Put in fridge for extra cooling and calming effect.

This product is gentle enough for women who are pregnant, breastfeeding, people with sensitive skin, people with a compromised immune system, the elderly and babies.

They are used before your moisturizer. Why?  Toners add water-based hydration, but moisturizers contain oils and fats that seal that hydration into your skin.

You can use the toner in the morning or in the evening, or both.

The shelf life of a preserved hydrosol is typically 1 to 2 years when stored properly. However, the exact lifespan varies by plant type.

Keep in a cool, dark place or refrigerated to maintain freshness.

Always essential oils, never fragrance oils!

We only use essential oils in our products.  We never use the 60%-95% cheaper chemical fragrance oils you will find in a lot of products at other stores.

Origin
Essential oils come from plant parts like flowers, leaves, or bark via steam distillation or cold pressing, capturing the plant's natural essence.  Fragrance oils, however, are lab-created using synthetic chemicals, to replicate scents.​

Uses and Benefits
Essential oils suit aromatherapy due to therapeutic properties, like easing headaches with peppermint.  Fragrance oils excel in candles, and soaps for their strong, consistent throw and longevity under heat.  Although fragrance oils should not be used in skin care, a lot of (online) vendors do.
