Old Town Bluffton: First market experience in South Carolina (7/10/25)

To sell products at local markets, acquiring a town license is essential. Since I reside in Hilton Head, the out-of-town license costs me significantly more. As I started exploring the local markets, I decided to move forward cautiously yet consistently. I create small batches to gauge customer needs and preferences. Taking the time to adjust is vital. With more experience at my age, I understand the importance of offering something distinctive that I genuinely believe in. As a Certified Aromatherapist, I am well-equipped to explain how my aromatic products can be utilized to their fullest potential.

The Bridge Collective is for me the perfect spot to start as a vendor of aromatic products

Our adventure to South Carolina commenced in October 2024 when we unexpectedly bought a condo in Palmetto Dunes. From January to May 2025, we dedicated much of our time to renovating the kitchen and two bathrooms. We gradually moved our belongings doing multiple runs ourselves using a 6 X 12 FT trailer.

Our move to Hilton Head in the midst of June was quite a journey; perhaps not for an American, but when you tell a European that the distance is about 673 miles (1083 km), they often react differently. It's all about perspective in life, isn't it?

Everything proceeded smoothly, except for our third trip when we overloaded the back of the trailer, causing it to drift during the drive. It wasn't until the last hour or so that we realized turning off cruise control was a very effective solution.

As I began exploring the local markets, I decided to take things slow but steady. I also make small batches at a time to understand what customers need and want. For me, having a spot in the shade is important, and this marketplace provides the opportunity to sell aromatic products safely.

The market at The Bridge Collective takes place every Thursday from 10 AM to 2 PM. Look for my pink tent with a black table (see photo) where you can enjoy a variety of wonderful aromas for free. Numerous testers are available to help you discover the perfect scent and product for you. Every week, I will be adding a new limited edition product to my collection. My base products are oils like body & massage oils, roll-ons stress relief, salts like bath salts & body scrubs, salves like healing salve and lotion bars in different sizes & colors.
